3M is seeking a Software Development Intern for the Health Information Systems Division Summer of 2019   located in Albany, NY.

The internship position is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule of 40 hours a week throughout a 10-14-week assignment starting in May of 2019.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Assists with the design and creation of software applications as a member of a team of software developers
·  Performs triage and resolution of software defects
·  Assists with the creation of enhancements to software in accordance with feature specifications
·  Conducts software tests in adherence with quality standards
·  May participate in the design and planning of new features
·  Keeps team members apprised of project status
·  Performs other duties as assigned
·  Design, Development and Implementation of dynamic, role-specific dashboards for Business Intelligence solutions, utilizing MicroStrategy
·  Creation of MicroStrategy components for ad hoc reporting
·  Creation of document style (RSD) reporting, including the creation of Narrowcast services for automated report delivery.
·  Assist in Business Intelligence design efforts of new project initiatives, including meeting with subject matter experts on data, profiling data, and prototyping
·  Support project implementation through the management and migration of MicroStrategy components in partnership with the support team
·  Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions and ongoing best-practice definition discussions

Basic Qualifications:

·  Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University
·  Currently possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Major in computer science, information systems, or related field.
·  Experience in Healthcare Data
·  Experience with SQL and relational database concepts preferred.
·  Strong time management skills and the initiative to resolve problems by communicating promptly and driving project forward is required.
·  Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in order to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of people, both individually and in groups is required.
·  Must be a creative and original thinker.
·  An understanding of Agile/SCRUM development concepts.
·  Ability to troubleshoot and research data and reporting issues
·  Demonstrated experience in dashboard and report development, testing, tuning, scheduling report delivery and alerts.
·  Some skill in web design and CSS
·  Basic understanding of mobile platform development
·  Preferred experience using MicroStrategy 9 or 10.1 (Desktop, Web, Intelligence Server, Architect) or any related Business Intelligence tool
