Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Clinical Support Technician will primarily be responsible for providing customers with technical support and basic clinical assessments for orthodontic treatment, elevating the case treatment planning to key advocates where necessary to ensure complete clinical support and satisfaction.
This position will work directly with oral care professionals, including dentists, orthodontists and their office staff, 3M sales and technical staff to support the growth of 3M’s custom orthodontic business. In addition, this role will play a key part in managing customer inquiries, claims and complaints, customer training, call center(s), invoicing and order management, etc.
The technicians’ primary goal is to ensure customer needs are met in a timely fashion with superior communications across the multi-functional supply chain and business teams. The successful candidate for this role will be a fast learner in order to have a strong command of 3M’s Clinical Support policies and be well-trained in product knowledge that can be critical for offering quick and accurate assistance to customers.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Act as a central point of contact for our customers to support varying levels of inquiries from basic order entry to clinical assessments
· Be an advocate for customers’ needs with our business and support functions
· Handle non-routine and multi-faceted customer complaints/inquiries
· Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with customers and working to establish a positive rapport with every caller
· Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
· Work with Supply Chain personnel ensuring customer orders meet planned cycle times
· Proactively manage exception orders working both with the dental professionals and Supply Chain Personnel
· Ensure compliance with established Clinical Support procedures
· Must follow all department and corporate procedures regarding safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory
Basic Qualifications:
· Possess a High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
· Minimum of three (3) combined years clinical dental industry and/or Clinical Orthodontia Support in a private, public, government or military environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Dental Technician or Orthodontics Assistant Certification preferred
· Three years Orthodontics experience preferred
· Orthodontics Teaching or Educational experience
· Orthodontic Assistant Experience
· Superior Interpersonal skills
· Computer literacy and confidence in using multiple applications simultaneously
· Confident phone manner with clear verbal communications skills
