Job description

The Export Distribution Coordinator is responsible for the coordinating, consolidating, and executing the export distribution of specialty chemicals from the U.S. to other regions globally by guiding export orders through all processes immediately following order entry to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
Major Responsibilities:
· Maximize container consolidations through the building of loads across all products and business units from the gateway distribution centers.
· Interface on a daily basis with freight forwarders, distribution centers, air/ocean carriers, customer service, demand, DRP, and logistics.
· Coordinating export traffic flow, carrier issues, and with other third parties as necessary while adhering to all NAFTA, customs, and compliance requirements.
· Assist customer service, sales, plants, DRP, and subsidiary personnel with daily transport service needs
· Assist with the clearance of imports into North America. Adhere to strict U.S. Customs compliance requirements, facilitate accurate duty payment, organize and monitor Cytec domestic delivery requirements for imported goods.
· Provide import instructions and information to company personnel and outside vendors, such as customs brokers, information regarding document requirements, U.S. Customs requirements, duty rates, transit times, routings, etc.
· Process air, ocean, and other invoices as required, working with accounting to assure general ledger coding is accurate and budgeted.
· Maintain broker/forwarder relationships, provide service requirements, monitor performance, and insure integrity of the import process to ensure Customs compliance and service levels.
· Works with NA Transportation staff to ensure appropriate services from inland carriers and ocean/air carriers.
· Help facilitate payment processes for import duty payment activities including account reconciliation and allocation of duty amounts to the appropriate business unit.
· Coordinate with inland carriers, ocean lines, and foreign suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate customs clearance process.
· Participates in special projects as required .

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  High School diploma required; secondary education a plus.
·  2+years operations experience with both import and exports, ocean and air cargo and working with customs processes and procedures.
·  Knowledge of import/export requirements that impact international orders, including taxes, government controls, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), import controls and regulations, customs regulations, import licensing regulations, managing letters of credit, currency adjustments, reporting requirements, freight forwarder operations, and paperwork requirements (both shipping and billing).
·  Knowledge of BPCS and experience working with a large ERP system; SAP experience strongly preferred.
·  General understanding of Supply Chain Management and the impact that different order activities and changes have upon the different touch points.
·  Ability to acquire detailed knowledge of specific customers, products, product lines by specific business units, and packing & shipping standards.
·  Knowledge and understanding of hazardous material regulations including IMO, IATA, and DOT.
·  Strong understanding of freight terms, including ocean transportation and port operations, payment terms, and pricing terms.
·  Ability to recognize, analyze, and offer solutions to customer problems or involve the necessary people to ensure the problem is properly resolved.
·  Ability to interact effectively with individuals from different cultures where English is not the primary language.
·  Ability to analyze customer order patterns to enable continuous improvement of order fulfillment and/or import process.
·  Ability to travel up to 10%
