Role Summary/Purpose

The Category Manager will : Work with Consumer Sales and Marketing team members and Lowe’s merchant team to maximize POS sales & margin growth for Lowe’s and GE
Essential Responsibilities

In addition you will :

·  Collect and interpret Retail Link data, ACNielsen marketplace data-market share data, ACV & market trends

·  Apply Category Management disciplines to financial metrics of retail space to meet Lowe’s and GE expectations

·  Proactively identify & communicate customer opportunities and goals using multiple data sources to support fact based decisions

·  Mine shopper data sources, identify shopper trends, and leverage custom research techniques to make recommendations to Lowe’s and GE Account Manager(s)

·  Utilize ProSpace tools to recommend planograms to the customer, measure space to sales, capacity, and overall GMROII of planograms

·  Manage demographic database and support requests for data / information

·  Identify and measure promotional & competitive activities

·  Understand & measure customer and GE CTQs

·  Responsible for development & maintenance of relevant Lowe’s planograms

·  Support activities of Account Manager(s) to understand and meet customer and business objectives

·  Assist in development of annual sales growth and promotional plans

·  Mentor junior team members on data and analytic best-practices

·  Regular local travel to Lowe’s facilities

·  Occasionally travel to GE locations or training as required
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or related field from an accredited University or College

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Category Management, Research, or Sales Analytics, preferably working for or supporting Lowe’s (including experience with Space Planning software (Prospace)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

·  Ability to travel as required for customer meetings, product knowledge events, and other customer-related activities
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Category Management, Research, or Sales Analytics, preferably working for or supporting Lowe’s

·  Advanced experience with Space Planning software (Prospace)

·  Prior responsibilities working as a category advisor in support of Lowe’s account for CPG company

·  Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated Category Management success

·  Strong knowledge of consumer products and retail merchandising

·  Excellent proficiency in sales and marketing development, data analysis, planogram development, ability to conduct complex ad-hoc data analysis

·  Advanced analytics skillset

·  Advanced level analytical and data basing applications experience (Excel and Access)

·  Working knowledge of Nielsen Scantrack syndicated data

·  Strong strategic planning, organizational, interpersonal skills; must be able to work effectively in teams with high customer focus

·  Excellent problem solving and project management skills

·  Self-starter, task oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
