What You Can Expect

As an Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Trader in Houston, you will report to Head of ERCOT desk and manage ERCOT Price and basis risk.

 

·  Manage ERCOT flat price and basis positions with a term horizon of one year
·  Deploy fundamentals-based trading strategies
·  Monitor, coordinate and distill ERCOT fundamentals into actionable intelligence
·  Work with Origination and sales staff to help price, structure and execute transactions
·  Execute quantitative analysis supporting trading strategies
·  Develop analytical tools enabling market opportunities

 

 

What You’ll Bring

·  Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in economics, mathematics or similar discipline
·  A minimum of 2 years of ERCOT trading experience 
·  A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
·  Highly analytical thinker and understanding of probability and risks
·  Must enjoy problem solving and creating trading opportunities
·  Track record of developing a trading strategy using fundamental analysis
·  A working knowledge of power fundamentals including renewables intermittency and battery energy storage
·  Clear and effective communicator
·  Willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues
·  Can work autonomously and be flexible
·  Proficiency in Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL) or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

 

 

Additional Details

·  This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
·  Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing

Compensation

Salary Range: $128,400 – $196,765 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
