Job description

ENGIE are recruiting for a Catering Assitant/Barista to be based in Fleetbank House, 2-6 Salisbury Square, London, EC4Y 8JX.

This is a permanent full time role (working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day Mon-Fri) and on offer will be a salary of £18,305-£19,000 per annum. This role will report into the Catering Manager.

To be successful in this role you must provide the following:

·  Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps)
·  If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc)
·  Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include :
·  Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving Licence.
·  Passport and all relevant work permits
·  or NI Number information / proof and full Birth certificate
·  If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details.
·  2 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills).
·  Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

·  To serve as a coordination point between the internal and external clients of Business Innovation and Skills, remembering the importance of customer service. General Overview:

·  To ensure that the Café Fayre and/or kitchens, including all fire exits is properly opened on time as required, and closed and locked up securely as required. To always maintain the confidentiality and security of this access.
·  To ensure that all areas are set up and ready for trade prior to opening, including staff ready for service, food and beverage items stocked up / ready to serve, and both restaurant and counter areas are clean and well presented. Ensure the correct labels are in place on all F&B items as per company and legal requirements.
·  To ensure that all areas are properly and completely closed down after closing, including till closure, food and beverage items properly secured/disposed of/stocked up, café areas cleaned, equipment shut down, and waste removed according to procedure.
·  To cash up tills on a daily basis and bank takings according to the cash handling procedures.
·  To oversee the cleanliness of the Café Fayre and ensure this is maintained as required throughout the day.
·  To ensure FOH food temperature monitoring and all other legally or company required food hygiene and health and safety processes are completed as required.
·  Ensure all hot drinks for customers are correctly prepared on request including using barista style coffee machine.
·  Ensure all cold soft drinks are correctly prepared on request.
·  To assist the kitchen in the safe and efficient transportation of food from the kitchen to customers. Ensure all food leaves the kitchen to spec and arrives with the customers in a timely and well-presented manner.
·  To operate the till system, taking payments via cash (or cards) from customers.
·  To assist with stock takes for front of house items including pre-packaged food and drinks on a weekly/monthly basis, and ensure accuracy of these.
·  To assist with placing of orders with authorised suppliers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as required for all front of house food & beverage, disposable and cleaning items as required.
·  To receive and check deliveries for food & beverage, cleaning and disposable items for front of house, refusing any substandard items, and amending delivery notes for any items not received. Ensure all items delivered are correctly stored. Follow the agreed process to input deliveries into stock system and ensure information is passed to the finance team.
·  To ensure that prior to an event the space is fully and immaculately set for the event in the correct time as per the client requirements. To ensure that all food and drink service during an event is provided according the event schedule, including timings, products, specifications and service style, providing flexibility where appropriate.
·  To ensure that all event areas are properly and completely closed down after closing, including food and beverage items properly secured/disposed of/stocked up, areas cleaned, equipment shut down, and waste removed according to procedure. Ensure that any client items are securely stored to await collection.
·  Any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
