Salary: Circa £24 000
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

As an Assistant Finance Manager you will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the Regional Commercial Controller for the Regional Distribution Centre by delivering timely and value added services whilst meeting deadlines with accuracy. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

Reviews Site purchasing, ie raising and receipting Purchase Orders to correct P&L Codes, correct authorisation process followed. Procurement Card Transactions reviews Purchasing Logs. Reviews Product ordering and allocation.
Reviews Holiday and Sick records and Working Time Directive reporting.
Reviews and authorises the collation of Payroll hours and Agency hours, for payroll, purchasing and LOGICS portal usage.
Assist with the production of the period pack.
Identify areas of continuous improvement.
Identify cost saving opportunities
Provide sickness/holiday cover for the Regional Commercial Controller.
Undertake financial analysis and projects as required.
Other adhoc admin requests as required.
Monitor contractor performance, eg building maintenance, catering, office cleaning, etc.
Reconciliation of Supplier statements as required.
Provide information to the DC management team as required.
Provide information to the Regional Commercial Controller and Head of Operational Finance as required.
Assist with period end trading, raising ILJ's, journal inputting, reconciliation of costs, verification of WH Variance Analysis.
Assist with collation of weekly reports required for quicks, inputting of costs and KPI data.
Attend Weekly Cost Review meetings where required.
Assist with producing monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
Assist with collating information for Plan Process.
Ensure all DHL accounting policies are adhered to at all times.

Desired profile

Key skills and experience in this role will include:

Finance experience in a similar role
Ability to work unsupervised within procedural guidelines
Recognise and understand the need to maintain confidentiality
People Management skills desirable
Computer Literate - intermediate/advanced Excel skills
Oracle Financials experience desirable
Educated to high school (Secondary) standard desirable
AAT Qualified/Studying towards
