As an Assistant Buyer you will be responsible for providing a supporting role for a range of non-strategic contracts to ensure that operational procurement demands are managed effectively allowing overall business targets to be achieved.

Key Responsibilities in this role will include:

To support the management of the Maintenance Framework Agreement and performance of all awarded suppliers ensuring that high standards of customer service delivery is maximised at all times
To provide support to buying team in managing the OJEU tendering process for maintenance contracts.
Support the management of suppliers, identifying and resolving operational and tactical issues and driving the supplier relationship management program
To support the delivery of savings to NHS SC customers by the Maintenance Operations Team
Delivering service within agreed KPI's to Trusts and Suppliers
Provide support to the Contract Reconciliation Manager's team to resolve queries in relation to supplier payments/customer invoices
Liaison with Legal and Contracting team to support the SRM team
To work with Buyers to develop new business opportunities
Develop a full comprehension of the OJEU process
To support activities relating to tender extensions and future submissions.
Fully understand the principles of the Framework Agreement and support the SRM team in working with Suppliers to adhere to the terms of the Agreement
Full understanding of all cover levels and discounting structures ensuring correct discounts are applied to supplier pricing through a robust validation process
To support the Maintenance Operations Team, to ensure all suppliers provide pricing to agreed timelines, to allow orders to be processed in line with KPI's and renewals timelines, ensuring customer contracts are renewed on time.
To actively support on-time renewals via liaison with suppliers/customers and the Maintenance Operations Team.
To highlight any amends required to TPMS in light of changes to discounts, commercial agreements and supplier profiles
Full responsibility for all supplier contact details being up to date in central files and in TPMS
Address escalated supplier / customer complaints as they arise, escalating to Buyer if they cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
To be fully responsible for keeping all supplier contact details up to date in central files and in TPMS
Attend Team meetings , One to One's and wider Capital Solutions events
As required work with Capital Buying teams and suppliers to expand product knowledge
Work closely with Contracts Reconciliation Manager, Team Leaders and SRM Team to ensure consistency and best practice in relation to supplier payments
Provide support to the SRM Team by producing meeting agendas, providing reports to support meetings, attending supplier meeting, taking minutes and actions – in line with SRM Programme
Produce and supply monthly reports to suppliers providing feedback and contract performance data
Be an active member of the Capital Solutions Team, supporting teamwork and joint learning and development initiatives
Contribute to formulation, review and implementation of policies and procedures.
Participate in projects and initiatives as appropriate.
Develop own knowledge and skills and provide information to others to help their development e.g category or market area
Assist in maintaining own and others' Health, Safety and Security.

Other duties within the general scope of the post and appropriate to the grading as may be required from time to time.
