Job description

Are you looking for a new exciting R&D challenge in the United States? Working on innovative projects linked to 3D Printing? That's a great start! We are looking for a creative and committed candidate to join us on this exciting journey!
You hold a Master's Degree or above in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Polymers or similar and already have a previous experience dealing with some similar subjects would be a huge asset.
Obviously, you need to be fluent in English to interact with our teams on a daily basis.
Finally, you have demonstrated strong problem solving skills and you are well-known for your strong interpersonal skills: you will be able to create strong relationships with your colleagues.
Your future responsibilities:
Arkema is a major supplier of 3D Printing materials for powder bed 3D printing processes like laser sintering and photocurable resins for processes like SLA/DLP. The technical polymers group has recently undertaken an effort to launch a number of materials which its customers would like to see 3D printable by extrusion printing aka “FDM”.
You would support this effort and your main activities would include:
- Evaluating the process of converting polymers into filament
- Developing print parameters
- Suggest and perform modifications to improve printability.
In addition to evaluating printability, you will create mechanical property data to help market each material and print prototypes to support customer development projects.
To be sure you will be successful, you need to be familiar with polymer processing equipment and processes, have a cursory knowledge and interest in extrusion printing, be able to design and run experiments, and report findings in a technical and professional manner.
Supervision will be provided by the corporate research 3D printing group. Input on priorities will be provided by David and members of the technical polymers BU in KOP and in France. We are very proud of our safety culture at Arkema and all of our laboratory work is conducted with safety as our top priority.
