Advent has a very professional environment and provides excellent resources and tools to achieve its objectives. The IT department handles all aspects of technology, including PC’s, servers, laptops, audio visual and fixed & mobile telecommunications. Advent’s server infrastructure is a mixture of Windows 2008 and Linux while our desktops and laptops run Windows 7 and Office 2007.
Key function: As part of the IT department, you will be required to provide first line support as well as logging, monitoring and resolving helpdesk calls for a group of 200 users in 11 10 European and 2 Asian offices.
Provide administration & procurement support for the Helpdesk Supervisor.
Reporting to: Helpdesk Supervisor
Main Tasks Assist with the day to day works of the department including backups, call logging, system monitoring, and resolving helpdesk queries in a timely manner.
Provide telephone assistance to all users across the Europe and Asia on problems with:
• Microsoft products (including MS Office 2007 and Dynamics CRM)
• Remote Access & VPN
• Web & Intranet
• Virtual PC Support
• Mobile Phone & Blackberry support
You would also need to work along with the helpdesk team to solve user problems on the telephony and voicemail systems.
Assist staff and visitors with their audio/visual and network access requirements.
Ensure functionality of all printers, photocopiers, binding equipment, etc.
Initial attributes required: An IT degree is essential. You will also have an understanding of IT based products including MS office, although on the job training will be provided.
Desired profile
A recent graduate with a keen interest in IT. You will be passionate about providing first line service to clients. It is imperative that you have previous customer service experience, where you would have dealt with queries and concerns on a first hand basis. You will also have excellent communication skills, particularly when conversing on the telephone. You must be eloquent and very well spoken. You will also be able to use your discretion when conversing with members of the Advent business based across Western and Central Europe and Asia
