Researcher
11-2013 - 05-2016 IT developmentI performed research in the context of the FP7 proect SCoRPiO. SCoRPiO aims to exploit uncertainty in systems which operate in the presence of hardware errors to achieve energy-efficient computing without inducing massive or fatal errors. My main contributions to the project were my involvement in designing
and implementing the SCoRPiO programming model. More specifically, the SCoRPiO source-to-source compiler was implemented by means of extending the C Intermediate Language (CIL) compiler.
Researcher
01-2013 - 12-2013 IT developmentI developed a software framework comprising a runtime wrapper for OpenCL Kernels and a compiler pass using Polyhedral Model theory. As a result computational Kernels were semi-automatically split and scheduled across the compute devices of a given heterogeneous platform comprising GPU(s), CPU(s) and FPGA(s). Additionally, part of a hybrid Partial Differential Equation
system solver was ported to the OpenCL programming model. A polyhedral analysis framework was developed on top of the Polyhedral Extraction Tool (PET), Clang, and PolyLib to discover the memory access pattern of code regions. I used this analysis to implement a new version of the system solver fragment which leveraged multiple OpenCL compute devices in order to
maximise hardware utilization and overall performance of a hybrid Monte-Carlo PDE solver.

Developer for Android application UthMe
Project
03-2015 - 03-2017
I was involved in the development of an Android application whose goal was to keep students of the University of Thessaly up-to-date with their course grades, department announcements, pending applications to their department’s secretarial services, dietary options at the school’s canteen, and department schedule. UthMe can be downloaded on the Google store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ribben.uth_university.uthuniversity&hl=en).
