The University Of Huddersfield

2002 - 2005 Huddersfield, West YorkshireAudiovisual productionMy course was Music Technology with Audio Systems: Main module titles included: Vision & Sound, Creative Programming, Internet Programming, Studio and Location Recording, Sound and Dialogue replacement in film (Major Project), Business and the Music Industry, Popular Musicology, Computer Controlled Sound Design. The course studied at University was diverse ranging from web and multimedia design to sound recording and production. As well as improving my general IT skills, the course also furthered my time management skills and ability to work under pressure in both team and individual environments. This course was an extension to the IT, Computing and Music Technology courses I studied at College and Secondary School. Amongst many skills, I first learned video editing and audio replacement skills during my time completing this course and my major project for my dissertation consisted of video editing and audio and dialogue replacement where I cut a film down to 20 minutes and recreated and recorded all dialogue, sound effects and music for the piece.

Extra-professional Experiences

Assistant Organiser/Photographer/Promoter

The Annual Free Convention
08-2002 - Now

I help organise and run a charity music event once a year with duties including managing the doors, photography of the bands, selling events tickets, merchandise and raffle tickets, managing the social media accounts and co-ordinating the event on the night. The events are to commemorate the music of the UK 1960's Rhythm & Blues band Free as well as the other projects the original members were involved in e.g. Bad Company. The event brought original Free bass guitar player Andy Fraser to play the Convention in 2014 and I was personally instrumental in bringing Free and Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke to play the event in 2015.
