Summary

As a double honours Maths and Economics student, I have a keen inclination to financial markets, econometrics and quantitative trading, data analytics as well as strategy consulting. The two majors I’ve undertaken deeply delve into creating, analysing testing various models and hypotheses in numerous ways. In this manner, I absolutely enjoy analytically interpreting market data and trends (after accurately identifying key factors) to provide better models that enhance the performance of the subject in question.

Experiences

Teacher, Principes de Aviz

07-2017 - 08-2017 Personal services- Successfully managed to finish teaching kids (aged 5-12 years) all 6 AIESEC topics. These topics were based on UN Sustainable Development Goal Reduced Inequalities. I had to devise a mechanism to merge school and AIESEC timetables. -Each of the topics were taught using different techniques to make the children more interested. These techniques would be really child-friendly and the kids actively engaged in the activities undertaken. - Assisted in the enrichment of teamwork skills as I had to work with a partner. - Greatly tested my leadership skill to work under pressure. There would be a good number of days that certain teachers would not come to work and it was my duty to substitute in for them at the very last minute. Taught me to improvise. - In addition to the AIESEC requirements, helped the school in painting and organisation of certain rooms and areas as per the school's request. - Learned a good bit of Portuguese as I was placed in a Portuguese-speaking suburb.

Private Wealth Management Intern

06-2017 - 07-2017 Sales- I spent 2-3 days on Bloomberg Terminal just to get a hang of it; looked up videos online and taught myself many important functions that Bloomberg Terminal has to offer. Overall, learning about the terminal and working with it was extremely useful. Initially, I was very intimidated by the amount of information provided, but after getting used to it, it was very user-friendly and a great source of financial information. - Created performance tracking templates for a portfolio of 20 stocks on a quarterly and monthly basis on Excel by extracting formulae for various relevant parameters (that assist in gauging the performance over time) from Bloomberg Terminal. This helped me develop my Microsoft Excel skills such that I could extract data from the terminal without actually accessing it by simply understanding how Bloomberg formulae work on Excel: which Bloomberg functions to use, period, frequency (monthly, etc.), consolidated or parent data for that equity, understanding Margins and Period-over-Periods and creating own formulae based on perception. - I also used Bloomberg Terminal to build the portfolio with drifting weightage. This was done to regularly analyse this portfolio on a sectoral/ market-cap basis and to generate and send reports of portfolio performance to PMS clients. - As peculiar as it sounds, I developed a better insight of Gmail as an intern in global wealth management. Since Bloomberg terminal and Google Finance needed subscriptions in order to send automatic alerts on a regular basis, a cost-free technique to receive news alerts was required to send it to my mentor and his colleagues. The cumbersome bit, that followed, was the automatic forwarding of these Google Alerts to my mentor and his colleagues. It was a laborious manner involving separate verification codes, forwarding-account setups and filters for each individual recipient. It was frustrating but the end result was very fruitful since my mentor derived a great deal of utility from this.

Treasurer

Tcd Indian Society
04-2016 - 03-2017

- Success: Total proceeds equalled twice the initial balance (money left over from previous Indian Society committee) - Formulated a budget for every event by 1. predicting the amount of revenue generated from the sale of tickets to huge events occurring at a later time during the tenure; 2. approximating costs for events calculated using historical time-series data of comparably scaled events; 3. applying for grants wherever applicable and predicting the magnitude of the grant offered using confidence intervals. - Kept account of cash and cheque lodgement, cheques dispensed and balance on a daily basis. - Ensured that cheques would only be dispensed for society events if the receipt for the same was provided by that committee member. Failure to provide a receipt would result in a lost chance at a refund for that committee member.

Make every future a success.
