Masashi Emoto

Professor of Gunma University Graduate School of Health Sciences & School of Medicine in Japan since 2003 focusing on the role of various immunocompetent cells involved in innate immunity (e.g. NKT cells, NK cells, intestinal intraepithelial cells, neutrophils and macrophages) and on identification of natural ligands for invariant NKT cells showing strong anti-tumor activity. More than 10 natural ligands were found and their chemical structures were successfully characterized.
