Volunteer
Guide Dogs Cymru• My duties in this position: communicating with fellow volunteers and members of management of the Quadrant in Swansea to organise a fundraising day and coordinating meetings to negotiate potential fundraising ideas. • I have arranged time slots for the Guide Dogs to be present during fundraising days, this has aided my leadership and time management abilities.
Vice President
Animal Welfare SocietyI am a strong supporter of animal rights, I developed these views into a role of responsibility to become the Vice President of the Animal Welfare Society for the first semester of 2015/2016 at University. The committee members including myself re-formed this society and raised money for Gower Bird Hospital, Guide Dogs and WWF. I enjoy travelling and intend to do more in the future.
Volunteer Steward
“Rights Here: Right Now!” Children's Rights Conference Swansea University• Assisted as a steward for this event, I was available for general queries, helped set up workshops and I was able to attend talks and workshops. • The debates and information of legal issues for children in the UK discussed during this event has increased my interpersonal abilities to discuss and empathise perceptions of life from varying backgrounds of society.
Volunteer
The Millennium Volunteers Urdd• During sixth form studies I gained a 100 hour volunteer work certificate. Duties included:- • Helping every Saturday morning at the Swansea Valley Cardiac Support Group Charity shop in Pontardawe. My responsibilities were to serve, keep the shop clean and organised and to be available for customer queries. • Assisted at Urdd Gobaith Cymru, a residential education centre in LLangrannog, West Wales. This involved supervising children during activities and encouraging them to speak Welsh.
