During the first week of this 4 week residential course I learned to work within a team, through outdoor adventurer activities, team building exercises and also developing leadership skills. During the second week I gained knowledge about my local community, organisations and residents, as I developed my personal and team work skills. This helped my develop my strenghts, weeknesses and skill when working within my team to create our NCS social action project. Weeks 3 and 4 were spent at West Studios creating our social action project around community issues of Mental Illness Awareness. We raised a total of £379 and created poster and leaflet on Mental Illness Awareness. Finally we preformed our presentation on Mental Illness Awareness to an audience of NCS members, parents and special guests at our NCS graduation event.
