04-2000 - NowDesign / Civil engineering / Industrial engineeringMy current job title is RSTC which is Rig Safety and Training Coordinator, I have worked for Archer for 17+ years and have held this position for 7+ of those. In this position I am responsible for the day to day monitoring of a positive safety culture within the drilling team in a hazardous and challenging environment. I am required to ensure all employees comply with both the company and clients SMS procedures, review and update as necessary, same applies to all relevant job specific risk assessments, CoSHH and manual handling assessments, liaise with onshore training department and ensure all personnel are kept up to date with all relevant certification relating to their role. Disseminate a daily safety and area inspection report to onshore management, focusing on crew safety performance and highlighting the previous 24hr quality intervention cards, this is carried out via the operations conference call. Organise and chair daily pre shift HS&E and operational meetings for both day and night shift personnel. Also organise a trip safety meeting where all relevant industry safety alerts and high profile hazards of the operation can be shared and discussed. As an OPITO assessor I am required to assess team members on their role specific procedural knowledge and to observe and verify their ability to carry out the tasks safely and within the requirements of the procedures. Encourage and record the Stop intervention system where personnel are required to intervene on any unsafe act or condition, rectify if safe to do so and record for records and/or learnings. I must attend TBT's (Toolbox talks) prior to task commencement, monitor personnel and their understanding of instructions, share relevant safety information and previous learnings related to the task. Record all accidents and incidents on the company Synergi system, create and ensure all corrective actions are completed within the specified time frame, gather witness statements and associated evidence where required, as a TopSet low risk accident and incident investigator I am required on occasion to arrange incident investigations and apply root cause analysis. The role covers many other aspects but these are the main objectives of the role.
