If you had asked me 10 years ago how my life would look like 10 years later, I would have probably replied, with an over-confident and grandiose tone apparently, that I would become an undisputed 3-point shooter in a major basketball club! Luckily for me, my lack of devotion, led to a deep and serious absence of skills to even approximate that far-fetched statement, so, instead I decided to truly devote myself to higher education, by pursuing a degree in Business Administration, as well as one in Journalism, in order to satisfy my late-night curiosities and concerns. However, I am able to recognize the two major events that have shaped my character until now: the master's degree in the field of Business Intelligence, with a specialization in Machine Learning and Text Mining with Patent Data and the one-year long position at Siemens Gamesa, a major wind turbine manufacturing company, in which I was part of the Technology department, responsible, mainly, for reporting.
Apart from the development of various technical skills, which were vital for the successful completion of tasks, related to both of these life-changing experiences, the most profound and immediate effects, were the cultivation of a more patient and professional mindset, with a strong focus on details and the development of a "on-time delivery" mentality, through a diversified and time-pressured schedule.
Graduated almost a month ago, I am currently looking for the next big chapter-the one that will allow me to become better and more proficient in my area.
My technical capabilities, among others, include: Text Mining, Machine Learning using RapidMiner, Programming (R, MySQL, newbie in Python), SharePoint, exquisite presentations with PowerPoint, practical and elegant spreadsheets with Excel.
