Summary

I have a PhD from Warwick University where I supported the launch of products for Unilever. I helped found the UniBrass Foundation, a charity aiding university brass bands. I managed 3 major national annual contests where I brought great growth. My personality is outgoing, I make the most of any situation. I excel when in face to face contact with people, having received awards for presenting. I’m good at persuading and negotiate my views but also willing to take on those of others. I’m always up for trying new things and quickly get excited and passionate about projects.

Brass Learning Manager, Uganda

06-2016 - 01-2017 Project / Product managementI spent 6 months with the charity “Brass for Africa” in Kampala. I managed the teaching team delivering weekly lessons to 500 children. This was a management role but I used my music hobby to lead the band. I learnt to manage teams, in the most difficult circumstances where the idea of a job is alien, as well as joining the charity’s international management team. In Uganda I built a system to collect rainwater and, using solar energy, made the first local hot water supply, using both my scientific knowledge and problem solving skills.
