Job description



The Robot Spray Booth operator prepares and operates Robot Spray Booth, reads setup instructions and specifications, loads control media containing programmed commands into control console of machine, or enters commands to retrieve programmed control data. He/She also applies paint, paint primer, décor primer or other coatings to plastic, metal, wood, and composite aircraft parts and structure using regulated spray equipment.

Summary of Duties:

Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints and work orders.
Documents the materials and processes used in the process to maintain traceability of product.
Operates Robotic Arm in a safe manner, including:
Loads programs into machine and execute program spraying of the material.
Clean panels in preparation for painting, primer, decorative adhesive or other coating application
Secures and fixture raw stock of material into machine.
Squares material prior to running program if necessary.
Monitors the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance.
Mixes and applies paint, primer, décor adhesive or other coating material via robot spray gun to aircraft interior parts.
Provides feedback to supervisor and programmer as to the performance of the program and tooling used for spraying the material.
Verifies the accuracy of the parts as a periphery inspection and report any suspect parts immediately to supervisor.
Ensures machine is in proper working order and immediately report any issues or suspect of issues to supervisor.
Ensures machine and area around machine is kept clean and neat as practical and mandatory prior to ending of shift.
Properly maintains coolant as necessary, including removal of containments, proper dilution ratio and cleaning and recharging machine of coolant when necessary or when requested by supervisor.

Job requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Degree or diploma from technical/vocational school in CNC Machining, CNC Programming, Cabinet Spraying, or Robotics is strongly desired and most preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years.
Computer Skills: Familiarity of the basic operation of CNC machine, and programming is preferred or the ability to learn.
Languages: Ability to communicate in French and English (the ability to read and write in English at a level necessary for successful job performance is mandatory)
Other Skills: Ability to read engineering blue prints is desirable.
