Job Summary:
The Test Lab Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance, planning, technical direction, inventory, and day to day support of the test lab(s). This individual manages according to company policies and procedures and within budgetary guidelines. This role will engage in coordination with users of the test lab(s), external vendors, facilities management, and will provide daily direction to lab staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

▪ Maintain inventory tracking of Capital Expenditure (CapEx) hardware and lab equipment
▪ Support audits of CapEx inventory
▪ Design, construction, purchase, and maintenance of test racks, fixtures, and equipment
▪ Apply continuous improvement to lab tools, racks, fixtures, organization, and processes
▪ Creation and maintenance of engineering drawings and documentation for lab equipment
▪ Participate in the forecasting and planning of future lab equipment and general lab needs
▪ Provide technical proposals that include estimated cost and lead time data
▪ Help review and select external vendors and suppliers
▪ Coordinate with external groups to prioritize work packages to lab staff
▪ Maintain cleanliness of test lab(s)
▪ Maintain a safe lab environment

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education:

▪ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
▪ 5+ years of experience working in Testing within a technical industry
▪ 3+ years of experience working in a Management role
▪ Basic knowledge of budgetary process
▪ Solid work experience in the following:
o Fabrication and assembly processes
o Inventory management processes
o Lab safety processes

Soft Skills:

▪ Ability to adapt, plan and organize in a constantly changing environment
▪ Strong written and verbal communication skills
▪ Must be proactive, meticulous, organized, and detail oriented
▪ Ability to efficiently resolve problems
▪ Ability to accomplish multiple tasks
▪ Ability to both interact with a team and work independently with high initiative
▪ Ability to use discretion and independent judgement when making decisions on behalf of the company
