Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Contribute to the development of the product roadmap to provide a high level strategy that outlines the vision and direction of the product offering over time (5 year plan). Translate product roadmap into projects and communicate effectively the strategy to team members.
· Develop and release PCB schematics and layouts for the Aerospace Industry.
· Utilize voltage rules driven designs in Altium
· Utilizing comprehensive checklists for “First Time Right” design output.
· Maintain Altium schematic and PCB libraries, including part footprints, 3D models, etc...
· Responsible for checking on part obsolescence, life cycle and sources, and propose alternates for evaluation.
· Contribute to PCB/PCBA design reviews by providing DFM/DFA/DFT and similar value added info.
· Contribute to determining feasibility of project goals and objectives related to PCB development.
· Collaborate in defining PCB development process improvements (procedures and checklists).
· Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in each PCB design.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience -

· Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
· At least 5+ years (recent) experience as a PCB Designer.
· 5,000 hours of experience working on Altium Designer 15+.
· Demonstrated knowledge and use of PCB “best practices” for both design and manufacturing.
· Knowledge of IPC PCB fabrication and electronic assembly standards (e.g. IPC-7351B, IPC-2221B).
· Design constraint management; including differential pairs, priority in spacing rules, net classes, etc.
· Understanding the layer structure: using substrate for voltage, capacitance and isolation issues
· Experience working with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
· High reliability (Class 3) board design experience; including compliance with DFM, DFA & DFT requirements.
· Willing to follow procedures and use checklists from design input to final output.
· Desired experience with either Version 17 or 18 of Altium Designer.
· Desired experience with complex power supply planes and motor drive signal routing.
· Desired experience in Aerospace qualification requirement related to PCB design

Physical Demands – While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to move around the office.

Work Environment – The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Travel – Periodical travel is minimal and may be 5-10 days per quarter.
