OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

This position will lead cost reduction and Value Analysis & Value Engineering activities for the Engineering department leveraging the aPriori cost estimation software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Reviews specification as related to assigned job.
· Prepares check list.
· Prepares lay-outs.
· Prepares structural sub assemblies and drawings.
· Prepares sketches for details.
· Reviews drawing package to assure conformance to requirements.
· Submits completed drawings to project lead for approval and release.
· Liaison for assigned task.
· aPriori cost analysis project leadership including primary POC for aPriori implementation/management and expert resource for aPriori users
· Identification, tracking, and reporting of cost reduction opportunities on existing components
· Lead Value Engineering activities and act as a consultant for New Product Development programs
· Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Knowledge and skills:

· Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.
· Must be able to provide complicated lay-outs and program design studies.
· Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments.
· Must be able to function as part of a design team.
· Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.

Education and/or Experience:

· Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree) plus an additional 2 years of related design experience required.

OR

· Must have a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree plus 1 year of related design experience required.
