POSITION SUMMARY -This is a temporary position for 3 - 6 months

The BOM and Production Scheduler is responsible for creating Bill of Materials from Engineering drawings, QMS, and Specifications. The BOM and Production Scheduler is also responsible for scheduling the correct order, at the correct time, and in the correct quantity in support of the Master Production Schedule. Ensure orders are released to the shop floor in a manageable, effective, and logical sequence to achieve on time completion of orders.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The BOM and Production Scheduler reports to the Production Master Scheduler.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Creates Item Masters & maintains base data in M3
· Creates, maintains & revises base BOM(s) & routes in M3
· Revises “Scheduled” production BOM(s) & routes as required
· Creates and maintains Top Down BOM structures utilizing Prelim drawings, drawing tree and general arrangement drawing data
· Process Flam EAMR(s) for Flammability Testing
· Create/maintain and follow-up status of Flam test coupons
· Create & maintain Service Bulletin BOM(s) & routes
· Mark-up PRR for drawing distributions.
· Review and approve drawings in Smarteam workflow
· Audits & analyzes base BOM(s) & routes as required for accuracy
· Coordinates activities with Prod. Ctrl, PM, Design Eng, Purchasing., ME, Stores/Shipping
· Coordinate part number roll decisions with Engineering
· Processes / incorporates production requests to base routes.
· Review and process engineering change orders (ECOs) and change BOMs and material usage as required
· Coordinates changes by communicating revisions to production & Prod Ctrl group
· Coordinates with Master Scheduling to MO release requirements as required
· Researches and analyzes part history
· Redlines production routes that are in work as necessary.
· Communicates and coordinates engineering stop work notices
· Creates and maintains Standard Work Instructions for production.
· Fundamental use of Excel
· Works with EMIS, Bellingham Systems, Planning System, DMS, etc. as needed
· DBT participation on assigned projects
· Create and Release MO’s and WO’s
· Troubleshoot M3 errors
· Makes reccomedations on how to optimize inventory and WIP levels
· Coordinate with other members of the production control team for filling material shortages
· Coordiniate material transfers with inventory control as required
· Coordinate timely start of production orders from kitting and stores and expedite as needed
· Coordinate timely completion of shipping kits and installation kits
· Maintain and update the integrated production schedule
· Monitor work center capacity load. Schedule and release orders to support work center capacities
· Perform other duties as required
· Primary Focal for Manufacturing Planning / BOM group on assigned projects
· Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience working in an ERP/MRP environment required.
· Minimum 3-5 years applicable experience required
· Advanced knowledge of Bill of Materials and Product Structures required.
· Advanced ability in reading engineering drawings & interpreting process/material specs required
· APICS CPIM Certification preferred

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· The BOM and Production Scheduler will be required to occasionally work OT in support of the production crew. This is a 5 day a week 8 hour a day position. When in Kaizen additional hours also may be required.
· Advanced knowledge of M3 or other MRP system.
· Proven analytical and communication skills
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Windows, Word, Excel).
· Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
