An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Infrastructure Support Analyst/Engineer - Cisco to join us to be based at our National Hub in Crick, NN6 7SL on a Full-Time Permanent basis.

The Infrastructure Support Analyst/Engineer - Cisco will support and manage the network (WAN, LAN and RF) and act as a backup for the intel infrastructure resources for the maintenance, development and security of delivered UK services. You will assist Project Management in the delivery of all IT Infrastructure Projects. This will include interpreting requirements, liaising and managing third party contractors in regards to technical requirements and ensuring solutions are implemented to our technical specification.


Within this diverse position, you will fully support and maintain the Data Centre, Cisco LAN and Motorola RF environments in the UK and assist in the application support for Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, Group Policy, Antivirus and other business related Wintel Apps.

will be actively involved with Project Management and will ensure that any infrastructure projects are fit for purpose and you will be evaluating and organising work within the project schedule. You will strive to ensure maximum availability of key systems during project planning and delivery.

There will be a degree of travel included with this position and you will be required to visit sites within the network providing systems recommendations in new implementations, equipment modernisation, design standardisation and troubleshooting.

The Infrastructure Support Analyst/Engineer - Cisco will be responsible for managing third line support for all ICT incidents associated with the local and wide area networks and telephony infrastructures for Transport Services in the UK and Ireland. You will expertedly manage the development, design, implementation and maintenance required to the local and wider network, and will ensure that adequate testing is carried out in accordance with the authorities ITIL processes and procedures. You will play a leading role in ensuring that all relevant documentation is accurate and maintained in line with this role.

Person specification

To exceed in this role you will have gained considerable experience within a similar role which involved a delivering sound technical, cost effective infrastructure solutions in a customer-focused environment.

Due to the nature of the position you will must be willing to provide support outside of core office hours to meet operational needs and you will be required to provide out of hours on-call support one week in three.

You must have appropriate certification/training in technical disciplines eg. Microsoft, Citrix, Cisco (essential) VMware and ITIL Foundation Certificate is preferred. A degree/course in an IT discipline is essential for this position.

You will have demonstrable experience with applying appropriate technical systems to operations solutions and have a sound commercial awareness.

Experience with trouble shooting, Nortel, Checkpoint FW`s, Shoretel, Mitel, Motorola RF, Siemans HiPath, Windows Server 2008 R2/2012, Windows 7/8, VMWare and Linux is also required to be considered for this position.

We are looking for an experienced individual who is diplomatic but assertive, with strong decision making capabilities and strong networking skills. You will take an innovative and creative approach in order to simplify solutions and communicate complex topics simply to various audiences.

You will have sound knowledge of technical trends, and preferably knowledge of CCNA/CCNP/CCDP. Knowledge of Wintel Desktop, server environments, IP telephony, sub systems, Virtualisation software and environments and Cisco based data networking and security.
