We are part of Business Controlling at Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing. We develop and deploy raw material market expertise, tools, methods, and governance. These enable the Volvo Group to secure and enhance its Commodity (Raw Material & Energy) cost-related performance and thus provide a competitive advantage to its brands.

What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a person to join our team as a Senior Commodity Cost Controller & Data Analyst. This position is to be the knowledge center on how movements in the commodity markets translate to movements in our purchase costs. You will report to the Head of Raw Material Business Control Group Trucks Purchasing, and will be based out of either Greensboro NC (preference), Gothenburg Sweden, Lyon France, or Curitiba Brazil.

As a Senior Commodity Cost Controller & Data Analyst, you will:
 

·  Provide insightful, data-driven analysis in the monthly closing routines to support raw material cost control and performance tracking
·  Lead the work related to the annual business plan and estimate processes, in close collaboration with the extended team in material cost controlling
·  Be the primary speaking partner globally within business controlling on raw material cost controlling/reporting
·  Lead and support finance transformation by effectively working with digitalization
·  Connect and transform complex data sources to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability
·  Collaborate across functions and regions to promote best practices in digitalization and business intelligence
·  Ensure timely and relevant business insights through advanced data modelling and visualization

Who are you?

A person who is able to look at the bigger picture, as well as work into the details. To be successful in this position you need to have solid business acumen together with cross-functional networking agility. Teamwork, collaboration, communication, and cross-cultural sensitivity are keys to succeed. As we are a global and diverse team, all of our meetings and emails will be in English, therefore you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.

Required:
 

·  University degree focused in areas of Finance, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or Statistics
·  Proficiency in areas including Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power BI, Power Automate, Dataverse), Microsoft 365 (e.g. SharePoint, Lists, Forms, Excel), Power Query, M language, DAX, and VBA
·  Skilled in performance monitoring using KPI’s, dashboards, and other key business metrics, and capable of translating financial insights into strategic actions
·  Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing digitalization and automation projects, preferably with a focus on Finance and Controlling functions 

 

Desired:
 

·  Knowledge in SQL, Python, API integration, SAP Business Objects

Offering will be country specific depending on where the position will be based. The below information is specific to the Greensboro, NC location.
