What is this job?

The purpose of this job is to develop and create predictive, descriptive, and prescriptive data driven solutions for the Commercial Operations Group. This role will be in a high paced and high energy environment that changes rapidly due to market conditions, customer needs and company strategy.

Responsibilities/Critical Competencies:
·  Develop competitive and market intelligence benchmarking to maintain competitive position in marketplace utilizing feedback from field, customers, and product managers
·  Knowledge of PowerBI, Python, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets
·  Basic knowledge of machine learning techniques (Clustering, Tree-Based Methods, Neural Networks, etc.)
·  Statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, etc.)
·  Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on data product development.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
·  A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
·  Self-starter with ability to prioritize critical tasks, as well as deliver on assignments within deadlines Minimum Education Requirements:
·  Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PHD in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics or a similar quantitative field and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
·  Summer Interns may work up to 40 hours or less per week.
·  Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
