About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated full time permanent Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with multiple systems and design tools, and who are open-minded to exploring all domains of heavy truck vehicles. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including recent university graduates.

 

Key Responsibilities

·  Design and develop electrical systems/installations for heavy trucks for Volvo and Mack brands.
·  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
·  Utilize 3D CAD for packaging, routing and modelling of wiring and components
·  Work with wiring harnesses and other electrical design tools.
·  Participate in the complete life cycle of product development, from concept to production.
·  Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate meetings outside of normal office hours, ensuring a balanced work-life approach.

Qualifications & Experience

·  Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent 
·  Contribute to, or drive cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders
·  Working with wiring harnesses components and design tools. (Volvo uses Saber)
·  Understanding and drawing of electrical schematics (Volvo uses Saber)
·  Exposure to 3D CAD tools like Creo, Catia, or NX. (Volvo uses Creo)
·  Design for six sigma principles
·  Proficiency in Office 365 including Teams
·  Familiarity with the complete product life cycle and associated processes.
·  Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varying work schedules.
·  Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
·  Communication and teamwork abilities
