Position Description


We are looking to recruit a confident, engaging, polite and professional Customer Service Representative (CSR) at our truck and bus dealerpoint in Carlisle.This is a 12 month contract.

As CSR you are the customers' key contact, ensuring a consistent and positive service, and are there to provide relevant, accurate and timely information, as work is carried out on their vehicles in the workshop. You’ll see customers daily in the dealer, and speak to them regularly by phone and email.

At Carlisle we are a close knit team, and are proud of our depot which has about 30 employees; we know our customers well and they know us. The atmosphere is positive; we pull together and work closely with the workshop to provide the best service we can. There are 2 CSRs who work alongside one another.


Produce a service plan for the customer, agreeing details in advance. Clarify the repair eg retail, warranty, contract work and relay timescales to the customer, keeping them informed throughout the job of any delays or issues.
Ensure MOT appointments are planned and communicated to customers and VOSA
Upsell products and services to the customer
Keep in touch with workshop to anticipate any concerns and explain invoice to customer when picking up vehicle and resolve any queries


You will need to be a methodical, well organised and proactive person, as there are lots of different vehicles to juggle that are at different stages.
You will also need to be resilient because at times a customer can have an issue or complaint.
Ideally you will have experience of the HGV/motor/plant industry to be able to hold a technical conversation with a customer about repairs to their vehicle. If not we’ll be looking out for someone with an aptitude for picking up technical information about different aspects of a truck. IT skills are required to use different in-house systems relating to repairs and invoices.


Circa £20 to £23k

22 days' holiday plus bank holidays

Hours of work : 8.00am to 4.30pm and 9.00am to 5.30pm alternative weeks. Every 2nd Saturday 8.00am to 12 noon
