This role sits within our Volvo Penta business, who are a world-leading supplier of engines and power solutions for a wide range of marine and industrial applications. What you will do
As a Business Development Manager, your focus will be to continue to grow Volvo Penta’s industrial sales and service market, to position Penta as the preferred industrial supplier within your customer area. Your sales territory will include Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia, with irregular travel to our Volvo Group Head Office in Brisbane and our Volvo Penta Head Office on the Gold Coast.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· Promoting and supporting the Penta network in sales of engines, e-mobility and future technologies
· Building ongoing relationships with your designated customer base and maintaining comprehensive and accurate customer records
· Taking a leading role in the development, launch and management of parts campaigns and service contracts
· Promoting Total Solution selling including Service Agreements & Telematics
· Setting Dealer, key account, sales and parts targets, along with follow up on activity to ensure achievement of targets
· Preparing and presenting quotes and tenders, as well as assisting existing Dealers with quotes and technical sales proposals
· Liaising with Parts and Service teams to ensure our customers are receiving a total offer from Volvo Penta
· Supporting Penta’s products and customers at exhibitions
Your future team
Reporting to the Director Industrial Business, you will work in a team of 5, including another BDM, a Technical Support Lead, an Application Engineer and a Technical Coordinator. Although most of the team are based on the Gold Coast, your home base will be in Perth and you'll regularly connect with them via phone and Teams.

Who are you?
This role will suit a proactive individual who enjoys chasing new opportunities. We appreciate that a great sales background can come in many shapes and forms so we are open to sales, aftersales and technical backgrounds.
We believe that your behaviours and characteristics are just as important as your technical skills, so ideally you will have:
· A successful sales / business development / marketing / aftersales background to date
· Experience in a similar role within the industrial space, with a good mechanical or technical understanding
· Extensive experience utilising CRM sales systems with the view to becoming a Super User
· A passion for building and maintaining customer relationships and engaging with people at all levels
· Self-motivation and the drive to achieve and exceed target expectations
· Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
