  • Design / Civil engineering / Industrial engineering

Job description

We are a successful civil contracting business who has been operating in Australia for over 35 years. With the agility and personal connection of a Tier 2, yet the expertise of a Tier 1, and the enhanced resources of one of the largest, world-class construction companies, VINCI, our employees and clients get the best of three worlds.

Thanks to our successful diversification strategy, we've experienced significant growth in recent years and have excelled in delivering complex infrastructure projects across Transport, Roads, Bridges & Structures, Rail, Airports, Water, and Dams.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Senior Project Engineer to join our team. Initially based at our Queens Road office in Melbourne, this role involves working on tenders and bids. Once a project is awarded, the position will transition to Site for delivery. This unique opportunity allows you to gain experience from the pre-contracts stage through to project completion.

The successful candidate will play a key role in our pre-contracts and tenders team, bringing their skills and expertise to drive our success in this division. We welcome applications from those with experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants, Desalination Plants, Oil & Gas, or Pipeline projects.

Ideal skills and experience required:

·  A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
·  Demonstrated experience delivering civil Water or Wastewater Treatment Plants, Desalination Plants, Oil & Gas, or Pipelines projects.
·  Extensive background in Mechanical/Electrical process engineering roles.
·  Previously work on a pre-contract position is desirable but not essential.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·  Current C-Class Driver’s License.

Our teams are multi-skilled, working with us, you’ll be given the opportunity to work on a range of projects while being fully supported to reach your goals. We are networked within a decentralised global organisation allowing easy access to a global ‘knowledge bank’ of resources, methods, and expertise where you can leverage the many business units within the VINCI group that specialise in all types of projects.

We have a range of benefits available for our employees:

Experience a workplace that truly values and supports you. We offer flexible health and well-being programmes to keep you at your best, along with competitive pay that reflects your worth. Our unique bonus scheme rewards your hard work, and through our partnership with VINCI, one of the world's top construction companies, you can grow your investment with our generous employee share program. We believe in a healthy work-life balance, offering a purchased leave programme and paid parental leave. We celebrate diversity, providing cultural leave for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Plus, enjoy peace of mind with salary continuance insurance, be part of an inclusive culture, and celebrate your birthday with a paid day off.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore all applicants must hold a current Driver’s License and have their own transport.

Seymour Whyte is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to an equitable construction industry extends to an inclusive culture that embraces our differences and gives everyone the opportunity to grow and be equally valued.
