VINCI Construction GeoInfrastucture (VCGI) is a long-standing and recognised designer-builder of major linear infrastructure projects in France and abroad.  

SPIECAPAG carries out complex onshore pipeline projects and associated infrastructure such as pumping and metering stations, water supply networks and mineral transport networks.

The two companies are part of VINCI Construction's Major Projects Division and are working together on a project in Papua New Guinea.

To provid operationnal management for the drainage works, we are seeking for a Drainage Superintendent (M/F) to join the project. This position will be based in Papua New Guinea, in a remote camp on the project site. (Rotations 9 on / 3 off) 

Reporting to the Construction Manager, your main duties will be as follow:

• You will ensure the coordination, delivery, control and validation of remediation and drainage works in tropical environment (heavy rains, gravel roads, forest tracks) for temporary and permanent drainage system.


• You will organise the work, manage the delivery team of your section of works and ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to the works section and that the level of competence is appropriate.


• You will ensure that a fully resourced drainage programme is implemented.


• You will monitor performance with key performance indicators in line with project objectives.


• You will conduct site audits and take appropriate action based on findings.


• You will take care of documentation and handover procedures for the section.


• You will monitor, manage, and secure the performance of your team and of the subcontractors in your scope. 


• You will monitor performance in line with Project objectives and ensure to meet the key schedule milestones as defined in the contract


• You will challenge and monitor cost/production.

Desired profile

• You have a proven Civil Engineering and Drainage experience in large sized construction projects


• You have good interpersonal skills, listening skills and diplomacy


• You demonstrate rigor and anticipation skills to successfully complete your project.


• You are reliable, responsive, easy to work with and able to build relationships


• You are adaptable (particularly to the site environment and to cultures different from your own) and internationally mobile


• Your balance, temperament and resilience make you well-suited to joining an isolated base-living project (life in the workplace / alternating periods of work and rest).


• You have a good command of English (including technical English, as contracts and standards are drawn up in English) and can work in a multicultural environment.
