Job Title - Waste Operations Supervisor

Salary - Between £29,000-£32,500 + Excellent Veolia Benefits

Location - Tower Hamlets Transport Complex, Silvocea Way, London

We're looking for an experienced waste operations supervisor, who has the ability to manage a team by motivating and coaching. If you have a solid background within Health & Safety, an understanding of cost control and the ability to learn how to interact with systems and new technologies, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do

As the environmental manager you will fully manage the day to day operational activities within the depot/service area. You will lead the team in your area to meet the contract objectives and deliver the best service to the local authority and the residents whilst meeting financial, operational and compliance targets.

You will be responsible for:

Overseeing Health & Safety of both the operatives and the general public.

Delivering a professional service at high standards to the local authority, clients and resident associations.

Representing the company at meetings, alongside the client and residents, developing, maintaining and evolving good relationships with all client officers and residents by promoting partnership working.

Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws such as; Road Transport Directive, Working Time Regulations and Waste Regulations.

Overseeing that all staff use the appropriate PPE, tools, systems (including on-board technology in real time) and equipment to undertake their roles effectively.

Managing, developing and coordinating staff resources effectively to meet operational requirements of the contract and to create a dynamic, innovative and responsive team.

Implementing all necessary training, such as manual handling when required, carry out disciplinary and grievance processes and procedures and ensure that employees follow all procedures correctly in line with company policy.

Checking equipment and vehicles on a daily basis and ensuring that budget is met and rationalised, including maximising productivity and cost control in addition to controlling vehicle and equipment usage and costs.
