Job Title - Maintenance Technician

Salary - Up to £37,000 plus bonus plus Veolia benefits *listed below

Location - Materials Recovery Facility in Rainham, Essex RM13 9YB

Hours - 40 hours per week, early or late shift - ranging from 6am to 7pm

Overtime and potential night call-out on a rotation basis.

What you'll do

The Maintenance Technician will support the Maintenance Engineer in maximising the potential though-put of the facility by conducting general daily maintenance duties on the plant and site equipment.

The Maintenance Technician will assist with the prevention of plant breakdowns by completing PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and ensuring there is a low risk of any downtime. You will complete all maintenance aspects of the MRF to maximise the uptime. The Maintenance Technician will assist the Facility Manager in the preparation of the site maintenance budget, assisting with tracking of expenditure.

You will carry out breakdown maintenance on a variety of plant and apparatus including Conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, motors, gearbox, mechanical drives, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology etc.

The Maintenance Technician will assist with the on-site maintenance subcontractors to ensure they are following all health and safety procedures. You must be available during any emergency situations and plant breakdowns wherever necessary (standby rota will be provided).

Ideal candidate profile



Qualifications :

The experience you will need

Essential :

·
Level 3 qualification in Engineering

·
Experience of manual handling

·
Formal qualification in a maintenance background (recognised apprenticeship)

·
Training within Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

·
Experience in processing manufacturing, production industry

·
Experience of working with mobile plant

·
Low voltage power systems

Desirable :

·
Experience within a recycling environment

·
Experience with Conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, motors, and material handling equipment

·
Experience with plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology preferred.

Where you'll work

You will be working on the Veolia Rainham MRF site Monday to Friday with late and early shifts required.

You will be part of the maintenance team. You must be capable to work within the team as well as individually. You will have regular meetings and interactions with the operational teams and management.
