Job Title: Foreman/Weighbridge Operative

Position based: Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 2DZ

Hours: 7:00am- 16.30pm, Monday - Friday – overtime when needed

Salary: £11.16ph (overtime paid at time & half)

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced team leader to oversee the day to day running of our waste transfer station in Newark whilst covering the weighbridge and covering the COTC requirements for the site.

Foreman Duties to include:

Ensure all staff are aware of and strictly follow health and safety procedures at all times and carry out regular site inspections to ascertain safe working practices

·
Report and monitor any occurring issues/defects without delay and arrange repairs as required

·
Ensure all accidents/damages are fully investigated that take place

·
Liaise with the Management team, administrators and other Veolia departments in regard to service issues and take improvement action in any area requiring improvement

·
Assist in the management and control of sickness and absence levels being responsible for taking improvement / remedial action

·
Assist in the Unloading and loading of vehicles with waste, and transfer of wastes using 360 Excavator and loading shovel and in the bulking and reloading of waste materials

·
Ensure that all the plant and equipment are checked as per the maintenance schedule

·
Assist in the logging of waste movements within the site.

Weighbridge duties to include:

·
Inspect loads at the weighbridge to ensure that they are the same waste detailed in the paperwork provided.

·
Ensure that all paperwork is filed appropriately and copies forwarded to archive.

·
Ensure weighbridge tickets detail the correct weights, the right account is selected and that documents accompanying each load are complete and accurate.

·
Collate daily, weekly, and monthly administrative records of all deliveries which is a statutory requirement.

·
Ensure all weighbridge tickets are validated.

·
Ensure that all vehicles internal and external are weighed correctly upon entry and exit and are booked onto the right accounts.

·
Dealing with members of the public who make enquiries over the phone by either answering their query or passing them onto the appropriate person.

·
Ensure that waste loads that require samples are sampled and correctly recorded in line with Veolia's policy and legislation.

Ideal candidate profile



Qualifications :

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

· 
People management and team leader experience is essential

· 
Yellow plant licence desirable (360 materials Handler and Loading Shovel) desirable

· 
Certificate in Technical Competence in Waste Management (COTC) desirable

· 
Have a basic understanding of IT

· 
Good knowledge of health and safety regulations

· 
Experience in the Waste industry preferred.
