Job Title: Foreman

Position based: Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 2DZ

Hours: 4 on 2 off rota - 10.5 hours a day Monday - Saturday and 6.5 on a Sunday

Salary: £11.16ph (overtime paid at time & half)

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced team leader to oversee the day to day running of our waste transfer station in Newark covering the COTC requirements for the site.


Ensure all staff are aware of and strictly follow health and safety procedures at all times and carry out regular site inspections to ascertain safe working practices

Report, monitor any occurring issues/defects without delay and arrange repairs as required

Ensure all accidents/damages are fully investigated that take place

To liaise with Management team, administrators and other Veolia departments in regard to service issues and take improvement action in any area requiring improvement.

Assist in the management and control of sickness and absence levels being responsible for taking improvement / remedial action.

Ensure that the facility and equipment is kept clean.

Assist in the Unloading and loading of vehicles with waste, and transfer of wastes using 360 Excavator and loading shovel and in the bulking and reloading of waste materials.

Ensure that all the plant and equipment are checked as per the maintenance schedule.

Assist with logging of waste movements within the site.

Ideal candidate profile

Qualifications :

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

People management and team leader experience is essential

Yellow plant license desirable (360 materials Handler and Loading Shovel) desirable

Certificate in Technical Competence in Waste Management (COTC) desirable

Have a basic understanding of IT

Experience in the Waste industry is desirable
