Where you'll work
You will be working across South London but primarily from our operating centres at Merton, Croydon, Bromley and Lambeth. There will be occasional travel outside of the region to meet with suppliers and service providers.
What you'll do
As the Fleet Engineer you will ensure that the Regional Fleet is managed efficiently, within legal guidelines and Veolia's policies and procedures, adding value to the Regional operating business. You will work with the Regional internal and external maintenance providers ensuring best value and quality of all aspects of the Fleet, essentially working as part of the Regional Fleet Services team working to continuously improve performance.
Your responsibilities will include legal compliance of operating assets, including Yellow Plant, legal compliance of Workshop operations and Health & Safety requirements, assisting the Regional Fleet Manager with the management of the P&L for fleet maintenance and add value to the regional business activity through vigorous cost control. You will support the Region in achieving and maintaining full compliance with VES Fleet Management data record systems and processes, minimise the whole life cost of operating assets and increase asset availability.
You will also be expected to have an active engagement with the operating businesses, including fleet driven improvement initiatives & business development, oversee management of internal Workshops and other external maintenance providers, to maintain service requirements in line with operational activities, have close liaisons with the Regional business to ensure best practice initiatives are maintained and lead, manage and develop the team to maximise innovation and a ‘can do' culture.
