Job Title: Depot Manager

Location: Hull

An excellent opportunity has arisen for the Depot Manager to join our relocated Industrial Services Depot in Hull, East Yorkshire. You will contribute towards business development and growth by identifying new Industrial Services Clients whilst ensuring operational delivery and the highest standard of Health & Safety and Environmental performance.

As a Depot you will manage safety, compliance, business performance, people management and ensure excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Industrial Services Contracts Manager for the Region and will possess passion and enthusiasm for Industrial Cleaning Services. A proactive and forward thinking self-starter will have the ambition and determination to achieve the required goals and objectives, together with the organisation and perseverance to deliver both simple and complex tasks to a high standard.

A certain level of flexibility in regards to working hours will be required as occasional weekend support may be required.

What you’ll do,

·
Manage and develop business performance, in terms of efficiency, profits, safety and service for the business in line with company policy and procedures.

Achieve target levels of operational efficiency and customer service whilst maintaining compliance with company standards and statutory regulations.

·
Ensure that business is sufficiently resourced in terms of plan, premises, equipment and people.

·
Achieve budgeted financial performance for the business unit.

·
Achieve targeted improvements in financial and operational activities.

·
Develop a portfolio of clients to grow the IS business in the Hull Area including actively working with these perspective clients in order to win new business.

·
Ensure that the customer receives a highly effective and efficient service by delivering safe systems of work to Industrial Services activities.

·
Reviewing new customer requirements when these are identified and how they fit into the operation to ensure compliance and profitability. Maintain responsiveness to ongoing customer requirements as they arise. Look for business solutions which continually meet or exceed customer requirements.

Ensure all management reports for Veolia and the client are accurately completed and submitted.

·
Prepare and deliver annual Budget, Forecast 1 and Forecast 2 for Veolia accounting purposes; and if required in preparation and tracking of client waste budget provide budgetary data.

·
Carry out any other reasonable requests as made by Veolia or the client within the scope of the contract.

·
Lead, manage, develop, the team and communicate clear organisational and business objectives to ensure total capability and understanding is achieved.

·
Communicate and implement standards and work practices to ensure application of company policy and procedures and relevant legislation.

·
Lead and develop all personnel to enable them to deliver the full service delivery required as part of the depot operation.

·
Ensure all tasks are risk assessed and that safe systems of work have been developed, documented and implemented.

·
Encourage a positive health and safety culture amongst the team, suppliers, contractors and all site users, particularly with regard to personal behaviours and incident & near miss reporting.

·
Ensure all QHSE events are recorded in the Rivo Safeguard and client reporting systems within required timelines; and that all events are actioned, allocated to named individuals, followed up and closed out.

·
Ensure maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 accreditations and associated Veolia Business Management System (BMS) requirements.

·
Provide updates, and where necessary action plans, to the customer on changes to IS legislation with interpretation as to how they will affect the client.

Seeked profile

Qualifications :

What you’ll need,




· 
Sound knowledge of Industrial Services activities, including high pressure water jetting, tanker operations, contract management and personnel management.

· 
Good interpersonal and communication skills and able to deal with people of different skills and abilities.

· 
Good analytical and evaluation skills.

· 
Experience in running an Industrial Services Operation.

· 
Minimum GCSE qualifications or equivalent.

· 
Minimum of two years’ experience within the industrial service industry or equivalent.

· 
Excellent time management skills.

· 
Computer literate with established working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiar with database systems.

· 
Preferably a CPC and NEBOSH holder.

· 
First Line Management Certificate from Institute on Line Management (ILM).

· 
Familiar with Management Databases (e.g. SAP).
