Where you'll work
In August 2001, Veolia was awarded a 35 year waste management contract from Sheffield City Council. The contract includes the kerbside refuse and recycling collections, local bring sites, Household Waste Recycling Centres, a Materials Recovery Facility, an Energy Recovery Facility and District Energy Network.
Based at our offices in Sheffield, you will help ensure that each of the 243,000 households in Sheffield receive their scheduled collection service.
What you'll do
The Collections supervisor will organise waste collection teams, follow health and safety policies and comply with road traffic regulations.
Key responsibilities will include ensuring the safe collection of waste is carried out as scheduled, and to ensure all complaints and issues are resolved in a prompt and efficient manner and maintaining a good relationship with client officers. This will be achieved by supervising the workforce and ensuring that correct waste collection processes are followed, together with managing any non-conformances and overseeing the Health and Safety of the employees, general public and contractors.
The Collections supervisor will also be expected to coach, support and develop the skills of the workforce, ensure that all collections of household waste and recycling take place. Ensure the achievement of Customer Service targets and be responsible for compliance with health and safety, fleet and other relevant company policies and procedures.
