Job Title - Chempac Chemist

Location - Empire Works, Aldridge

Hours - Full time - 40 hours, Monday to Friday

What you'll do

The Chempac Chemist will collect hazardous waste from customer sites, ensuring that it is packaged and segregated suitably for transportation and is compliant with all relevant regulations and Company policies. In order to carry this out, the Chemist must check that all paperwork is correct, segregate the items for safe transportation and ensure that all items are packaged correctly

You will ensure that collections are efficiently managed to maximise customer service and all vehicles are compliant with legal requirements, including Operator licence. You will be responsible for ensuring that an efficient service is provided to all customers, in line with Company, legislative and customer requirements.

Customers will range from very small, e.g. residential to large multinational organisations and the relationship will be through the delivery of service. The Chemist does not have any direct reports but must ensure that they operate in a safe manner to prevent health and safety risks to themselves, team members and customers.

You are responsible for ensuring that you adhere to all Company procedures for the packaging, labelling and collection of hazardous waste. You also need to ensure that you operate in line with all legal requirements, including transportation legislation and customer processes when collecting waste.

Where you'll work

You will be predominantly based at the Veolia Aldridge office.

Qualifications :

The experience you will need

· 
Science-related degree/HNC/HND Level

· 
Manual handling – Must be able to lift reasonable weights safely

· 
Valid UK driving licence

· 
ADR (International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) qualification – Desirable

· 
Health and Safety Qualification - Desirable

· 
Knowledge of environmental legislation - Desirable

· 
Knowledge of the waste industry/dangerous goods - Desirable
