Job Title: Chargehand

Position Based: Primarily at Newbury, occasionally at Padworth
Hours : 47.5 hours a week (07:30am-18:00pm or 10.00pm to 20.00 pm) working 5 days out of 7 on a 7 week rolling rota. Includes weekend work depending on rota.

Salary: £10.58 per hour

Job Purpose

Working at the Household Waste Recycling Centres providing excellent customer service and recycling advice to the public and creating a safe place to visit and work. Cleaning and tidying of the site, sorting of materials and deputising for the supervisor in their absence.

Supporting the rest of the team with problem solving, making sure daily checks are completed and keeping containers emptied regularly. Resolving any customer concerns and escalating site operations issues where needed.

Duties

Manage a team of operatives

To run the site in Supervisor's absence

·
To open and close the site depending on which shift working

·
Maintaining Site safety and rules, and efficient use of available resources

Ideal candidate profile

Qualifications :

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

· 
Experience within a similar team leader role

· 
Good communication skills are required, along with good customer service skills.

· 
Preferred experience in the waste industry and customer service

· 
G ood IT skills

· 
Knowledge of Health & Safety
