Job title: Cat C+E Driver

Position based: Stewartby, Bedford, MK43 9LY
Hours: 40 hours per week with overtime available Working on a rota 7 days a week with overtime available .
Salary: £10.68ph

Job Purpose:

Veolia's industrial division combines a range of industrial services to provide appropriate solutions such as chemical cleaning, tank cleaning, materials handling, water jetting and environmental response.

We are looking for an LGV driver/operator to join us at our Stewartby site near Bedford where you will be responsible for operating a high airflow machine / vacuum tanker, confined space entry, chemical tank cleaning, high pressure water jetting with pressures in excess of 10000 psi , attending major emergency scenes such as road traffic collisions, preventative maintenance deep clean projects, repackaging of hazardous materials, land decontamination and decommissioning projects.

This will include participating in the Veolia Emergency Response / Cascade duty rota system


To undertake the necessary daily checks as per the drivers handbook.

To adhere to all transport and waste management legislation and ensuring all traffic laws and legislation are complied with in relation to your duties including the security and weight of loads.

Participating in pre-job risk assessments Utilising a variety of tools to remove hazardous materials whilst working in a safe manner at all times to avoid taking unnecessary risks. Co-operating with line management in ensuring that personnel, contractors and visitors comply with the workface and site rules.

To assist line management in the development of equipment, plant and systems in order to improve safety, health, environmental and quality standards and operational efficiency.

To maintain high standards of housekeeping at the workface and on-site.

To report faults on plant, equipment and infrastructure and any other operational difficulties to a member of the line management team, as they occur.

To assist in the maintenance of plant and equipment when instructed to do so and to assist in the commissioning of new plant, equipment and processes as required.

Ideal candidate profile

Qualifications :

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Cat C+E (Class 1) Licence and experience is essential

Current driver CPC is essential

Must be prepared to work away from home for extended periods of time

Must be prepared to travel locally to the main depot

Must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Prepared to work flexible hours, evenings, nights and weekends.

Operating knowledge of high airflow machines and vacuum tankers is desirable

A proven background in Industrial cleaning activities would be advantageous
