Where you'll work
Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility. A modern Energy recovery facility on the edge of the New Forest.
What you'll do
Provide safe and efficient operation of all activities on site including a waste-fired high-pressure boiler and generator, together with associated auxiliary plant, including first line fault diagnosis. You will assist the Shift Team Leader with the operation and monitoring of plant from a Central Control Room, operating plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the ERF, including mobile plant and refuse crane. You will assist in the day to day compliance with all aspects of the PPC Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incident to the Shift Team Leader, carrying out routine plant inspections, repairs and adjustments/operations as required collecting and recording plant data.
As Assistant Shift Team Leader you will be required to work within all safety rules, health and safety policies and site procedures, monitoring stocks and taking receipt of consumables/collection of residues.
About your knowledge, skills and experience
To enable you to carry out this role you will need be computer literate and interested in mechanical and electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience in an Engineering role.
This role would require you to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences.
An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues would be an advantage.
