Engineer Apprentice

Apprenticeship – Maintenance, Operations and Engineering Technician

About the Site

Biomass Power Station in Durham, North East England. This site is able to process 120,000 tonnes of waste wood in order to produce 17.4MW of renewable electricity for the National Grid.

Key Responsibilities

Working from a modern control room you will utilise a DCS (Distributed Control System) to train in operating the plant including materials handling plant, waste heat recovery boilers, a steam turbine, a generator, various pumps, compressors, motors and much more whilst monitoring pressures, fuel loads, temperatures, emissions and all other elements of the process. You will also be required to train in the operation and monitoring of plant locally out on site by manually reading instrumentation to check pressures, levels, operating valves and carrying out isolations

GCSE Maths, English and Science ‘C' and above
