Full-time: 100%

BACKGROUND UNILEVER:

Unilever R&D will build a new Global Foods Innovation Centre in Wageningen, the Netherlands. The Foods R&D organizations, currently based in Vlaardingen (The Netherlands), Heilbronn (Germany) and Poznan (Poland) will be co-located in the new centre.
In this way Unilever will create critical mass in expertise areas to ensure that the technologies ultimately bring benefit-led, breakthrough innovations to the markets. In addition, we aim to evolve our R&D sites into innovation ecosystems to leverage the knowledge and expertise of external partners.
The new centre is expected to be fully operational by Mid 2019.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Develop product formulations across all Unilever Savoury technologies to meet consumer needs and business goals.

JOB SUMMARY
· Lead product development workstream in projects
· Develop product formulations according to the business brief processability, quality and safety requirements
· Provide formulation related technical input to project scoping
· Implement and optimize standard technical processes in the kitchen
· Carry out work for support of product claims, risk management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory
· Perform product and ingredient physical-chemical analyses according project needs
· In silico first approach (start with computer and later go to the kitchen) using available digital tools like: Minerva, JMP, predictive models
· Continuously improve the WoW and digitalization in product development team
· Conduct lab measurements
· Partnering in projects to R&D Project leaders, Consumer technical insight and Processing technologists

KEY REQUIREMENTS
· Education: Bachelor/Technical Degree in Food Technology /Engineering/ Processing, Biotechnology or similar relevant area
· Product development/ Formulation experience
· Experience in leading/coordinating product developments
· Interest in food & cooking
· Independent and take initiative
· Analytical skills
· Pro-active mind-set
· Good organization & communication skills
· Effective in working with cross-functional teams
· Fluent communication in English
