The Information & Analytics (I&A) team leads the business information and advanced analytics agenda at Unilever, working with partners, functions, categories, and geographies to harmonise decision-making and deliver technology solutions to drive business insight. The team is made up of data experts and specialists who transform data to insight using analytical tools and techniques to deliver competitive advantage for Unilever.

The Head of Technical Governance will report to the Director, Product Services in the I&A Tech department. He/She will be instrumental in creating systems that will put the value of shared global data at the heart of Unilever's future business growth. His/Her work will be shaping the most ambitious global IT initiative the business has ever attempted, including innovations that will create a single enterprise data warehouse (EDW) and pull together information from across functions to deliver quality data faster; constantly developing new capabilities and best practice in partnership with internal and external teams, in multiple time zones, to put useful IT innovation into the hands of thousands of employees. He/She will also play a fundamental role in the design, development and implementation of the global data ecosystem which will encompass Unilever's Teradata Enterprise data warehouse, BODS and other technologies / projects that use the EDW.

Key accountabilities:

The I&A Tech Lead Manager – Technical Governance is responsible for:

Technical Landscape
· Landscape upgrade and decommission strategy, planning and implementation across eco-system - Teradata, Microsoft SSAS and SSRS, Microsoft Power BI and Tableau
· Assessing when to upgrade components in the landscape, prepare the business case, obtain approval and flawless execution
· Lead the Change and Release management process for I&A Tech
· Lead Gate process reviews and approvals on the Teradata, Microsoft SSAS and SSRS, Microsoft Power BI and Tableau landscapes
· Technology Vendor Partnering with the likes of Teradata, Microsoft, Tableau
· Overall Platform health, adoption and compliance
· Creation, communication and implementation of all standards across the platforms
· Support design reviews across all technical areas by working with the solution architecture leads assigned to each of the functional portfolios and regions
· Ownership of long term capacity planning of the landscape
· Key role in end to end performance of the platform and applications
· Determination and handover to run team of operational processes
· Act as the primary interface to Teradata, Microsoft and Tableau as a supplier of both technology and resource in Unilever

DevOps

· Candidate will be responsible for implementing DevOps for Microsoft Azure environment
· Should have experience in implementing DevOps in a similar environment with in-depth understanding of DevOps tools like Git, VSTS, Jenkins, Selenium, Puppet, Docker or such similar tools

Testing

· Responsible for Defining QA strategy, approach and execution in development projects
· Responsible for Leading and directing the QA leadership team.
· Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
· Be accountable for the test automation projects
· Provide technical leadership and expertise within the field of Quality Assurance and Testing.
· Ensuring that the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the QA strategy as defined.

· Focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools, test techniques, test automation.
· Building and maintenance of quality standards as well as enforcing technical and testing standards.
· Monitoring of all the QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement. Implement steps required to improve the processes.


Security & Performance

· Security subject matter knowledge and Technical expertise to drive implementation.
· Liaise with CTO security and Information Security etc to ensure we design for security meeting legal and internal requirements while providing access to both internal and external users.
· Resource should be able to understand other technical impacts especially performance and drive solutions accordingly

People Management

· Manage a team that is geographically distributed across time zones
· Ability to work with multiple cultures, both within team and stakeholders
· Ensure team leads are developed to their full potential and gaining relevant experience while defining the standards/guidelines for GDS and managing the TDA processes.

Experience and qualifications required:

· Ability to lead a globally dispersed team
· Overall 10+ years of experience in IT of which 6+ years of experience working on of I&A solutions including leading Enterprise Data Warehouse, integration and Big Data architectures
· Teradata experience preferred
· Global CPG experience preferred
