Background information
Unilever procurement is operating worldwide with 1800 people in the procurement function, sourcing Production Items (PI) and Indirects split into Marketing & Business Services and Global Procurement Capex & MRO. The total sourcing spend is around EUR 26 billion per year, of which EUR 14 billion on Production Items (PI) and EUR 12 billion on Indirects.
The role of technical operational /tactical procurement officer falls under Global Procurement Capex. Global Procurement Capex is divided into 9 portfolios, led by 2 Global Procurement Portfolio Manager. We would like to get in touch with candidates who seek their challenge in a strategic role but with operational experience and ability to help operationally as required, supporting the procurement manager for several Sub-Portfolios under their remit.
The Sub Portfolios will be from Filling & Primary Pack Control/Automation, Utilities, Electrical Portfolios.
The Sub Portfolios range in complexity and strategy and you will be expected to gain experience, become a subject matter expert, act as the focal point representing Unilever to the outside world, representing Capex Procurement to the Unilever community as well as fully aware of Unilever SC / Finance Systems.
Our customers are the Unilever Capex Procurement Market organizations and the Global Technology and Engineering Group supporting them worldwide and across all the categories.
The role of Global Capex Procurement Officer
Main job purpose
Within this challenging role you will support the Global Procurement manager for the above-mentioned portfolio's and will be responsible for following up all related operational and tactical activities assigned to you.
What can you expect of the job?
· Assist the Global Procurement Manager with the development and implementation of Unilever procurement strategies relevant for the respective portfolio
· Run 7 step sourcing Projects
· Identify and support the global technology team, in selecting, piloting and rolling out new suppliers with market and/or global capability. Support the supplier assessment
· Stake holder management being the main contact in communication between the Market capex procurement team, the global technology team and suppliers
· Lead as per procurement 2.0 LFG the negotiations supporting the market capex procurement team for the "global" technologies
· Participate and lead kick off project meeting
· Build and maintain beneficial relationships with market procurement colleague trough periodical meeting and create decks to be shared
· Build and maintain beneficial relationships with global technology group
· Analyze various parameters on the procurement of any machinery regarding to the product life cycle on spare parts or machinery in general and compare it to the value it will add to the process, LCC / TCO.
· Create profound analysis for a buy or do not buy decision and share the recommendations with the stakeholders
· Identify and drive cost savings and cash benefit generation based on portfolios and sourcing strategies and compliance management
· Continuously improve ways of working and optimize procurement activities
· Update of portfolio tracker for savings, cash, projects, contracts ………
· Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, develop supplier service levels, track and analyze supplier performance data, proposing priorities for performance improvement and follow up monitoring actions including escalation as appropriate
· Support the global suppliers in having right attention from market procurement, finance and engineering team for overdue payments
· Source and negotiate both for approved capex and strategic initiatives
· Negotiate UPA and CTC with critical supplier or for specific critical projects
· Use of CLM for all the legal documents approval
· Interact with CLM and signature team to have on time approval or signature of legal documents
· Create and maintain an individual plan for e-Tendering program
· Set up e-tenders in Ariba on demand and run events in full autonomy
· Collect from market procurement team po related info: saving and srs number
· Support the CCT team on approval process for non-compliance Po
· Regularly use one view to collect historical data for portfolio and negotiation strategy definition
· Support market procurement team in escalation to global suppliers for project implementation issues or claims
Skills & Experience
· HND or bachelor level;
· A minimum of 2 years' experience preferably within a technical procurement position;
· Specific procurement and or engineering education preferred;
· Superior stakeholder management, both internal and external;
· Ability to operate independently;
· Ability to operate in a large organisation with complex decision structures / remote relationships;
· Experience in legal contracting, project and relationship management;
· Proactive and positive team player;
· Good negotiation skills for both external as internal negotiations;
· Good communication skills;
· Methodical and organized;
· Good skills MS Office (more than average on MS Excel); SharePoint; sap and most common tools available for office and communication automation
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills,
Location and availability
We are looking for a good candidate, preferably to be allocated in Rotterdam Unilever office in Netherland or in Port Sunlight where other members of the team are based.
