We are looking for our Financial Accounting Department located in Schaffhausen for a:

Financial Accounting Assistant


The Role:

The Financial Accounting team is an extension of the Group Chief Accountant's Department in London and is responsible for providing financial accounting and

reporting advice to the companies and operations within the Schaffhausen Hub. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the accounting operations for

a number of the Schaffhausen based companies which this team supports, mainly for UASCC (American Supply Chain Company) and UFI (Unilever Finance International) AG.

We are looking for an individual with strong analytical abilities, good communication skills and the ability to work independently. The candidate should have a flexible mindset and enjoy solving issue, challenge status quo and propose process improvements.

Key activities:

· Support Month End Closure activities for management and financial reporting with the help of the Teams in Switzerland and Bangalore
· Analyze and maintain an accurate general ledger
· Review and provide commentaries on fluctuations against budget and forecast
· Executing intercompany cross charges within Switzerland
· Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts on a yearly Basis
· Day-to-Day accounting activities: resolving invoice queries in DCIW / coding of invoices / manual payments / month end journal entry postings / accruals / repostings etc.
· Prepare statistics
· Co-coordinating audits for Financial Accounting Area
· Supporting ad hoc local and global Projects

Professional skills & key competencies:

· Precise and structured way of working
· Stress resistant - able to deal with time pressure during closing periods
· Ability to analyze issues and propose sustainable Solutions
· Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to foster working relationships with internal and external counterparties in different locations/cultures
· Good English language skills, German language skills would be an advantage
· Good knowledge of SAP, especially in FI/CO but other areas are beneficial as well

Experience / education required:

· University level or compareable education in Finance
· Practical experience in the Financial Accounting Department in a multinational company is an advantage
· Experience with financial reporting under IFRS
· Knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER and Swiss VAT preferable
· Good knowledge of MS-Office
