BUSINESS CONTEXT AND MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Finance Excellence Team (FET) is a core pillar within the Unilever Finance Operating Model. The Category FET design principle is to create expertise teams to directly business partners the Global and Regional marketing teams under 3 core areas of Innovation, Budget Management and Performance Reporting & Analytics. Working within the FET provides ambitious individuals with the opportunity to experience the fast-paced environment of FMCG, working in a Global team and exposure across all Unilever categories and markets.

The Cost & Budget pillar of the FET plays a key role in the budgeting, tracking, controlling and partnering of Category Costs including Category Innovation Plan (CIP), Overheads and bough-in cost across global and regional category teams. Joining the team at the implementation phase provides a unique opportunity to drive change across the business and play a leading role in delivering our Future Finance Vision. Successful candidates will thrive on working within a change environment and bring with them a strong existing knowledge of Category Cost & Budget Control.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Change Management
· Play a leading role in the implementation and rolling out of a standardised budget tool including the deployment of Partner training programme
· Play a leading role in the implementation of a “3 Tier” approach to business partnering (Self Service, FET Intervention, Agile Intervention)
· Work closely with other Big C/Regional teams to develop cross- Big C streamlined approach to Category Cost & Budget Control

Core Accountabilities
· Maintenance of a standardised budget management tool across a wide portfolio of category spend
· Key point of contact for Business Partners on all budget management matters across a wide portfolio of category spend
· Own the monthly tracking of actuals and forecast across a wide portfolio of category spend
· Lead “Tier 2” Partnering interventions where budget variances or cost anomalies are identified and reviewed with business partners to resolve
· Support Business Partners on budget reallocation decisions enabled via timely & accurate information together with category specific expertise
· Perform key financial control processes including Month End close reviews, Goods Receipt and Inspection Report (GRIR) and accrual management
· Manage Master Data structure across portfolio of category spend
· Drive process improvement and job fundamental across marketing teams to ensure a right first time inputs e.g. IO Compliance, CBT/CRG Matching, Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Control Principles
· Lead an expertise topic across all Big C's to drive our team capabilities and efficiency
· Play a leading role in the driving the Finance Excellence Team change program and imbedding of new ways of working across the Finance Team

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Recent & relevant category budget management experience
· Ability to manage large and complex set of stakeholders
· Strong data management and manipulation capabilities
· Pro-active team player
· Strength in holding others accountable
· Experience in presenting and communicating with senior management
