BUSINESS CONTEXT AND MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Unilever's Beauty and Personal Care (BPC) business is the third biggest BPC business in the world and has consistently delivered competitive growth.

We will do this through development of a business model that allows us to build stronger brands, improving our gross margins in order to increase investment.

The role of the Assistant Finance Partner is to support the development of the financial strategy & business performance of certain brands and cross category projects driving financial leadership and value and working hand in hand with the Finance Excellence Team (FET).

This role will focus more on Ponds and Lifebuoy, both global brands.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Planning

· Support the strategic planning process of brands through delivering high quality insights using analytics, for Lifebuoy and Ponds.
· Support and partner with the Marketing teams in business modelling, P&L forecasts, competitor benchmarking, shadow P&Ls.

Performance Intervention:
· Complete the analytics required for any identified performance issues at a cell level – Brand/ Country cell and support resolution through cross-functional teams and Cluster / Category contacts.
· Make interventions in the areas of Gross Margin (GM), Pricing, Return on Media Investment (ROMI), market development amongst others.
· Partner with Categories to complete active portfolio reviews

Innovation
· Development of business cases for global innovations, in collaboration with the FET, global brand teams, the regional counterparts as well as the Research & Development (R&D) and Consumer & Market Insight (CMI) communities.
· Drive post-launch interventions

Budgeting
· Drive better decision making around resource allocation and budget setting. Support on prioritization and activation of a ZBB (Zero Based Budgeting) mind-set within the Brand/s (e.g. Forecast Review).

Cross Category

· Participate in various cross-category projects Personal Care (PC), or across other Big Cs (Home Care / Foods & Refreshment).

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Studying for (or willing to) or hold a Professional finance qualification equivalent to CA, CIMA, ACCA.
· Experience with the identification of risks and opportunities in the P&L
· Experience in analytical projects and excel modelling
· Experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
· Experience of working in multi-national teams and/or a virtual team environment would be an advantage
· Strong analytical skills, Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills and attention to detail
· Critical Thinking
· Decision support – working collaboratively with others and communicating and influencing

· Accountability and responsibility
